Juan has dedicated over 43 years to martial arts and self-defense training. Starting his journey at just eight years old with boxing, he transitioned to martial arts at 10 and began training in Shotokan Karate, eventually competing and winning championships in various disciplines such as Full-Contact Fighting and Kobudo. His training spans across numerous styles, including Judo, Kempo Karate, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Combat Hapkido, and Commando Krav Maga, where he achieved the esteemed rank of Level 7 Core Instructor—one of only five worldwide. He is a highly respected martial artist and self-defense expert, specializing in training civilians, law enforcement, and military personnel. He also focuses on empowering women through self-defense, offering classes globally and volunteering weekly to teach domestic violence survivors. Today, he runs two Jiu-Jitsu academies in Puerto Rico, where he continues to share his extensive knowledge and experience.
